Prof. Sylwester Samborski (born in 1973) worked in the Department of Applied Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of LUT from 1998 till 2023; in 2006 he defended his dissertation on damage in ceramic materials, then got his DSc in mechanics in 2018 (Łódź University of Technology, Poland). From 2020 Sylwester Samborski is a Vice-Dean for General Affairs, as well as the Head of the Department of Fundamentals of Production Engineering. Scientific areas: mechanical engineering, including classical mechanics, strength of materials, fracture and damage mechanics, NDT and signal analysis, as well as metrology and technology.
